FAQ about art
FAQ was an art space, a gallery and a place for projects. Frequently Asked Questions were the curatorial guideline of the FAQ. The exhibited positions all addressed frequently asked questions.
The aim was to create an opportunity for artists to engage with contemporary issues.
The mixture of languages in the name of the exhibition space indicated that this exhibition space was entirely in the present. It was not only exposed to the pressure and influences of global languages, new media and shifting cultures, it was constantly trying to adapt and learn.
Networking, publicity and low-threshold access formed the framework for all activities in the FAQ. The now and its immediate transportation into the global consciousness of cyberspace formed a central approach of the FAQ's mediation strategy.
FAQ was an art space in Basel that continues to exist as an initiative without a space.
